Awil Hashi,

Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder

Dr. Hashi supports institutional effectiveness by developing standards-based and accreditation aligned curriculum and programs. He has over 15 years of experience as an educator, EFL specialist, education technologist and curriculum developer. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from York University, Toronto, an MA in TESOL from Minnesota State University and a PhD in Educational Technology with distinction from University of Calgary.

Ian Rogers,

Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder

Ian C Rogers is a Canadian educator with a Masters of Education and many years experience as an instructor, manager, curriculum developer and educational technology specialist in Canada, China, the UAE, Qatar, Iraq and Somalia. He has worked on a number of Ednastics projects including the establishment of the Institute of Modern Languages and English Skills Program at SIMAD University, Somalia, and the founding of Northstar College, Hargeisa, where he was Project Manager and inaugural Executive Director. Ian is an expert in managing educational projects with full cycle implementation, and has a knack for developing and implementing innovative ideas using technology.

Jamal Adam,

Accreditation Specialist

Dr. Jamal Adam has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the educational sector in the United States, including as an accreditation specialist with the Higher Learning Commissions. His experience in accreditation is extensive, having served as an accreditation specialist with one of the six major accrediting bodies in the United States where he contributed to ensuring the quality and integrity of higher education institutions. Dr. Adam’s expertise extends to academic administration, student support services, and assessment, having served as an academic dean, counselor, and professor at several colleges and universities.

Ibrahim Abdi,

Chief Business Development Officer, Senior Consultant

Ibrahim is responsible for organization and policy development, monitoring and evaluation. He has a graduate degree in development studies and over 12 years extensive experience in international development, project management, human resources, policy design and stakeholder engagement with VSO Uganda as well as working in other countries such as the UK, UAE and Somalia.

Judith Hewko,

Senior Consultant

Judith is responsible for development of innovative learning solutions and instructional design. She has over 15 years experience as a classroom instructor, workplace instructor and curricula and materials developer in English language training programs in Canada, China, Japan, Chile and Mexico.

Ragheb Alghezi,

Chief Technology Officer, Consultant

Ragheb is responsible for information technology support, development of educational technology solutions and acts as our Arabic language resource. He has extensive experience working with world-leading associations such as USAID, the US Embassy in Baghdad and the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office overseeing and developing e-Learning solutions for English language learners. Ragheb has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University, Finland and an MSC in Human Language Technology / Natural Language Processing from Arizona State University.

Advisory Board

Dr. Abdullahi Barise

holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from McGill University, Canada where he held the position of Higher Education Excellence Fellow (1995-1998). He has extensive expertise in teaching and learning in higher education, academic advising, curriculum development, teacher training, international social work consultancy, as well as issues of family life education in multicultural contexts. He taught at Zayed University, Dubai, Higher Colleges in Sharjah and University of Regina, Canada. Dr. Barise in now the President of City University, Mogadishu.

Dr. Marc W. Ross

holds a PhD in Educational Contexts from the University of Calgary, Canada. Dr. Ross is a psycho-educational consultant in collaboration with various organizations including the Canadian Paraplegic Association, Rick Hansen Foundation, Easter Seals and the Calgary Board of Education. Dr. Ross’s areas of expertise include Public Speech, Counseling, Evolutionary Psychology, Integral Studies and Mind-body Medicine. He currently teaches courses on Character Education as well as Mind & Wisdom in the Graduate Division of Educational Research at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Mohamed Aden Hassan

is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Urban and Community Research (CUCR), Goldsmiths, University of London. His current research focuses on the social, economic and political impact of Mobile Money. Mohamed holds a BA in International Marketing Management from Hogeschool Holland, University of Professional Education, Diemen, the Netherlands, a PGCE from Brunel, an MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Dr. Abdullahi Hussein

has a PhD in education from the University of London’s Institute of Education which is now UCL. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, in the areas of: impacts of wars on education, teacher development and the use of technology in education. Dr Hussein’s recent publications include a book with the title ‘Freirian and Postcolonial Perspectives on The Development of ICT in HE’ and a book chapter on the ‘Impacts of wars on Curriculum and Medium of Instructions: Somali as a case study’.

Dr. Omar Mohamed Warsame

holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics with a focus on teaching communicative Arabic to speakers of other languages.  He  is a highly qualified Arabic lecturer and trainer with over 7 years experience teaching both native and non-native Arabic speakers. In addition to teaching, he has worked developing Arabic language teaching curriculum and programs, published research papers and presented at international conferences. As the academic administrator of a major center for Arabic learners in Doha, Dr. Omar has been responsible for the design and development of curricula materials as well as teaching Arabic to speakers of other languages from over 35 nationalities.

Mr. Steven Thompson

is a licensed teacher with a B.Ed and an M.Ed in educational leadership with extensive experience as a teacher, administrator and consultant in the K-12 system, particularly at International Baccalaureate schools, in Australia, Indonesia and the UAE. Steven has many years of experience as a vice principal, head of school and published academic in IB World Magazine. Additionally, he has demonstrated success as both an IB school inspector and in guiding new candidate schools through the IB authorizations process for all three IB programs.

Mr. Assed Yussuf

is a childcare industry expert and the Director of two highly rated nurseries in Birmingham, UK. He is well versed in the art of establishing and running a successful nursery from the setup, programming, documentation, staff training to the policies and procedures. He is also an Advanced Safeguarding and Child Protection Trainer as well as National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Trainer and Assessor and possesses professional certificates that are relevant in the industry: First Aid, Fire Marshal, and ECDL Certificate.
